DC-LANE Client version 1.0 provides LANE Client support as defined in the ATM Forum LANE V1.0 and V2.0 specifications.

Functions and Features

DC-LANE Client includes the following functions.

  • Auto-configuration using information from LAN Emulation Configuration Server (LECS)
  • Unicast, broadcast, and enhanced multicast connections
  • Dynamic filtering of multicast, broadcast, and unicast flood traffic
  • Dynamic address resolution with advanced caching
  • Support for LLC-multiplexed connections (including RFC 1483 and RFC 1577)
  • Encapsulation and forwarding of AAL5 frames
  • Ability to establish connections with optional QoS characteristics
  • Support for FLUSH, VERIFY and READY protocols
  • Full support for the LANE Client MIB
  • User exits allowing packet forwarding to be done outside the N-BASE
