DC-LANE Services provides support for LAN Emulation (LANE) Services, as defined by the ATM Forum LUNI (LANE V2.0) Specification.
Functions and Features
DC-LANE Services includes the following functions.
- Conformance to the LANE Emulation Over ATM V2.0 (LUNI) specification
- Two distinct components, which
can be co-located on the same network device:
- DC-LECS, implementing the LANE Configuration Server functions
- DC-LES/BUS, implementing the LANE Server and Broadcast and Unknown Server functions
- Support for UNI 4.0 Signalling (with conversion to other Signalling protocols provided by DC-Call Control)
- Support for the LAN Emulation Server MIB
- Emulation of Ethernet LANs
- Flexible interface to the BUS Forwarder data path component allows an implementation to resolve unicast addresses to Multicast Send VCCs.
- Two alternative implementations of the BUS Forwarder data path component, providing simple or extended (i.e. unicast address resolution) data forwarding function
- Support for the LAN Emulation Server MIBs.
