Data Connection was founded in 1981 and has been profitable for every single year since. Revenue has relentlessly grown year-on-year, reaching £51m ($102m) in our 2006 - 2007 fiscal year, with profit of £11m ($21m). Net profit has exceeded 15% of revenue every year since the company was founded.
The vast majority of revenue originates outside the UK, showing our huge commitment to international markets and our ability to provide real-time support, including 24x7 from locally based experts, across the globe. North America is our largest market, but we have substantial business in every region of the world.
In recognition of the proportion of revenue we generate outside the UK, we have received the Queen's Award for Enterprise three times. The Queen's Awards for Enterprise are the UK's most prestigious awards for business performance. To qualify for the International Trade category award, businesses must be able to demonstrate outstanding growth in overseas earnings and commercial success.
