Data Connection and Interpeak Unveil Embedded IP Routing Software Solution

Partnership between leading suppliers of IP Routing, MPLS and IPv4/IPv6 TCP/IP software creates advanced OS-independent IP routing solution

London, UK, Dallas, TX and Stockholm, Sweden: April 27, 2004. Interpeak, a leading provider of Internet and security protocol solutions for embedded systems, and Data Connection Limited (DCL), the world's leading provider of carrier-class communications protocol source code, today unveiled an integrated networking solution to enhance the development of next-generation carrier-class networks. Routing protocols from Data Connection, which include BGP, IS-IS(-TE), and OSPF(-TE), have been integrated with IPNET, Interpeak's dual mode IPv4/IPv6 TCP/IP routing stack to reduce development effort and risk for engineers building gateways, switches and routers. These integrated solutions are particularly suitable for virtual routing applications, as IPNET enables virtual routing through the multiplication of routing tables only, and Data Connection's IP Routing software supports multiple routing table managers and protocol instances. These new and efficient methods can be implemented with very little use of memory and can support massively scaled systems.

The demand for seamless and integrated carrier-class software has increased due to time-to-market requirements for carrier-class technology. Interpeak's and Data Connection's solutions have been integrated with many operating systems, including Linux, Solaris, OSE, INTEGRITY, Nucleus and VxWorks. Customers can now have a complete IP routing solution up and running within days, no matter what operating system they are using.
