Data Connection Participates in Global SIP Interoperability Test Event with IMS Enabled DC-SIP
DCL strengthens DC-SIP's interoperability track record at SIPit 20
London, UK: April 30, 2007. Data Connection Limited (DCL), the world's leading independent provider of communications protocol software, announced today its successful participation in SIPit20, the twentieth SIP interoperability test (SIPit) event organized by the SIP Forum (www.sipforum.org) and hosted by Alcatel-Lucent in Antwerp, Belgium.
The goal of the SIPit events is to refine both the SIP protocol and the implementations of the numerous companies participating. The week-long event, which is held twice a year, enables participating vendors to prove interoperability with as many vendors as possible.
Data Connection, a regular participant in SIPit events, tested with its DC-SIP and DC-SBC solutions. DC-SIP is Data Connection's carrier grade SIP protocol stack and DC-SBC is the company's fully portable session border controller software solution designed for system vendors. Both products successfully tested with many of the participating vendors at the event. DC-SBC also proved interoperability with its recently announced IMS capabilities, which include P-CSCF, IBCF, BGF, and I-BGF functions.
"We look forward to each SIPit event as they are great venues to prove industry interoperability," said Matthew Finlayson, Vice President of Data Connection's session border controller group. "We were able to successfully interoperate our SIP and IMS related features with a range of platforms, which strengthens our track record of industry compatibility."
More on DC-SIP
DC-SIP is used by many of the world's largest manufacturers of VoIP/Multimedia equipment and is enhanced to allow speedy assimilation into IMS environments. These enhancements include IPv6 functionality, signaling compression (SigComp), ENUM, session timers, and support for IPSec, AKA, and IMS-specific SIP headers. This functionality enables DC-SIP to be utilized in all SIP-based IMS applications, including Application Server, CSCF, Gateway and User Elements.
More on DC-SBC
DC-SBC is the industry's first and only software-based, fully portable session border controller solution developed exclusively for system vendors. DC-SBC has been shipping for over two years and has recently added several IMS enhancements including P-CSCF, IBCF, and BGF/I-BGF functionality. Data Connection's DC-SBC solution enables vendors to enhance their existing and new products with full, carrier-grade session border controller functionality with massive savings in time to market and engineering costs.
