Data Connection IS-IS Routing Validated by Isocore
Data Connection's DC-ISIS routing protocol stack successfully passes the functionality and routing stability tests at Isocore Internetworking Lab
Chicago, IL: June 7, 2005. Data Connection Limited (DCL), the world's leading independent provider of communications protocol software, today announced the successful completion of testing of its Intermediate System to Intermediate System (IS-IS) routing code at independent third-party Isocore Internetworking Lab, Reston VA.
DC-ISIS is Data Connection's highly portable source code solution that implements full IS-IS protocol support, including ISO 10589 and RFC 1195. DC-ISIS fits into the same architectural framework as Data Connection's other IP Routing protocol products (including DC-OSPF, DC-RIP and DC-BGP) and can be easily integrated with DC-MPLS to provide a complete control plane solution for routers and switches, or can be used on its own or with third-party products. Founded in 1981, Data Connection has been developing portable routing code for a wide range of technologies for over 20 years.
"Data Connection's IS-IS stack performed extremely well in all of our functionality and deployment testing environments," said Dr Bijan Jabbari, President of Isocore. "The results obtained from these recent tests demonstrate that the DCL code is stable and meets the industry standards with respect to functionality and implementation."
The focus of this evaluation was to verify the capability of DC-ISIS to adapt to the deployment scenarios and transient conditions faced by routers in live networks. This type of testing helps routing vendors reduce the time to roll-out new protocol support and integration within their products for carrier use. Isocore evaluated the DC-ISIS stack under a rigorous service provider environment, verified the capability of the protocol stack for basic functionality and stability, and confirmed the accuracy of the IS-IS route selection algorithm and shortest path computation. In addition, the protocol stack successfully passed hierarchical Level 1 and Level 2 IS-IS testing.
Data Connection is exhibiting at SUPERCOMM 2005, Booth #60046.

About Isocore Internetworking Laboratory
Isocore has a fully equipped, state of the art, Internetworking Laboratory which conducts technology validation and certification, as well as product evaluation. The Lab's current focus is on IP routing, VoIP, Triple Play service, IP Optical Integration and Layer 2/3 Virtual Private Networks (VPNs). Major router and switch vendors, Service Providers, and test equipment suppliers participate in lab activities. The Internetworking Lab showcases its validation and testing efforts annually at a Public Inter-operability Demonstration. The next demo will be following the MPLS 2005 International Conference (October 16-19, 2005). For more information, visit Isocore on the Internet: http://www.isocore.com
