The RJE Workstation provides 3770 file transfer, printing and job entry. It supports:
- local queueing and management of jobs on a job spool
- multiple host LUs and multiple output devices for each workstation
- data records of up to 248 characters
- binary transfer with no translation, or ASCII-EBCDIC conversion
- printer, punch, or exchange output, which can be sent to a disk file or piped to a UNIX program, including passthrough of PDIRs (Peripheral Device Information Records).
Commands are provided to start or stop a workstation, or to view its status. Access to the host console is provided by an interactive console program.
