In addition to the other facilities discussed in this chapter, SNAP-IX includes a NetView Distribution Manager (NetView DM) agent. This application runs in conjunction with the NetView Distribution Manager (NetView DM) program at a host, enabling a NetView DM operator at the host to manage files on the Solaris computer using NetView DM commands. NDMA can also work with the earlier host program DSX (distributed system executive), which was replaced by NetView DM.
NDMA supports the following management operations:
Transferring files between the host and the Solaris computer
Deleting files on the Solaris computer
Sending a list of commands to the Solaris computer, to be executed as a shell script
Sending messages to be displayed to an operator at the Solaris computer
NDMA provides all necessary mapping functions for the information provided by the host (such as mapping from NetView DM file name format to Solaris path names).
For more information about NDMA, refer to SNAP-IX NDMA Administrator's Guide.
