Before You Begin

This book explains how to use the SNAP-IX High-Level Language Application Program Interface (HLLAPI). It describes the interface in detail and explains how to write C language application programs to make use of it.

The HLLAPI interface is provided both by the SNAP-IX product and by the separate SNAP-IX TN3270 product. Where there are differences in the use of HLLAPI between the two products, this is indicated in the text. Otherwise, the information in this manual applies to both products, and the product name SNAP-IX is used to refer to both products.

If your SNAP-IX system includes Windows clients, HLLAPI support on Windows may be provided with the Windows 3270 emulation software. Contact the supplier of this software for more information if necessary. Windows HLLAPI support is not supplied as part of the SNAP-IX product and is not described in this manual.

Intended Audience

This manual is for programmers writing HLLAPI applications; it is not intended for HLLAPI application users.
