System Administrators should use this book to install or remove SNAP-IX.
This section explains how information is organized and presented in this book.
This book is organized as follows:
Installing SNAP-IX on Solaris Computers, provides instructions for installing the SNAP-IX software.
Installing SNAP-IX Client Software on Windows Clients, provides instructions for installing Windows client software on PCs.
3270 Emulator Requirements for the terminfo Database, lists the functions that must be supported by Solaris terminals used with SNAP-IX 3270 programs and the terminfo database items that refer to these functions. This information is provided for reference only. It is not necessary for installing SNAP-IX.
Kernel Tuning Parameters, lists kernel parameters controlling access to shared memory and semaphores, which you may need to change to suit your SNAP-IX configuration.
Motif Resource Files, provides information on the Motif resource files used with the Motif 3270 emulation program and 3179G emulation program. This information is provided for reference only. It is not necessary for installing SNAP-IX.
Normally, SNAP-IX can be installed by following the instructions in Installing SNAP-IX on Solaris Computers and Installing SNAP-IX Client Software on Windows Clients. The remaining information in this manual is provided for reference only.
