1.4 Installing the SNAP-IX Documentation

The SNAP-IX delivery CD includes a complete documentation set in both HTML and PostScript formats. The HTML documentation is provided both as a package that you can install on the Solaris computer, and in a directory where you can view it directly from the CD.

To view the documentation directly from the CD, use your Web browser to open /cdrom/cdrom0/docs/menu.htm. This file contains a link to each of the manuals in the documentation set. You can also view the documentation from a PC-based Web browser, by opening the file \docs\menu.htm on the CD.

To install the documentation on the Solaris computer, type the following:

cd /cdrom/cdrom0
pkgadd -d ./snadocs

During the installation process, messages are written to the file /var/adm/log/SNADOCS.log to track the progress of the installation and provide information on any errors that occur.

After the pkgadd command has completed, you can then view the documentation by opening the file /opt/sna/docs/menu.htm .
