The Windows client software and the Setup program are installed on the Solaris server during the general SNAP-IX installation, as a self-extracting ZIP executable file in the directory /opt/sna/w32cli . This means that you can copy a file to the Windows computer using ftp, and then run it to extract the files on your Windows computer. See the readme file in the directory /opt/sna/w32cli on the server for more information.
You must install the Windows Client software on each Windows client PC. The SDK is required only if you will be using the client to develop new applications using the SNAP-IX APIs, and is not required if you will be using it only to run existing applications.
You can install the Windows client software in either of two ways:
Run the Setup program through Windows, as explained in Installing Windows Client Software Using the Setup Program.
Enter the setup command from the command line, as explained in Installing Windows Client Software from the Command Line.
If you want to install the Windows Client SDK software, you must use the Setup program; you cannot install this software from the command line.
