This book is a guide for developing C-language application programs that use the Conventional Logical Unit Application (LUA) interface to communicate with a Systems Network Architecture (SNA) host computer. The SNAP-IX implementation of LUA is based on the IBM implementation of the Request/Response Unit Interface (RUI) in its OS/2 products (such as Communications Server for OS/2), with modifications for the Solaris environment.
Before reading this book, you should have a knowledge of the following subjects:
SNA concepts (see Related Publications)
The C compiler cc
Solaris
The Microsoft Visual C++ Version 4 compiler
Microsoft Windows NT (Version 3.51 or later) or Microsoft Windows 95
Graphics used in this section are explained in Graphic Conventions.
