The snarjewks command starts the RJE workstation. The workstation does the following:
Transfers jobs from the spool to the host for processing
Receives output from the host and routes it to the appropriate file or program
Provides access to host console information
Sample command: snarjewks -s2 wks1
You must start the workstation on the computer for which it is configured, and the SNAP-IX software must be started on that computer. Consult your System Administrator if necessary, or refer to the SNAP-IX Administration Guide for information about RJE workstation configuration or about starting the SNAP-IX software.
The syntax for the snarjewks command is:
snarjewks [ -sn ]wkst
You can use the following option with the snarjewks command:
Where n is a decimal number (minimum 1), indicates that the workstation should stop after n minutes with no RJE activity. In other words, the workstation stops when none of the following have occurred for n minutes:
Jobs on the spool waiting to be submitted
RJE console commands
Output returned from the host
Console messages from the host
The workstation also stops, regardless of work waiting to be processed, if it loses contact with the local node and cannot re-establish contact within n minutes. This generally occurs because the local node has been stopped.
If this option is not used, the workstation continues to run indefinitely, even if no work arrives or it loses contact with the node; it must be stopped using the snarjestop command.
You must use the following parameter with the snarjewks command:
The syntax for the snarjewks command returned messages is:
RJE Workstation wkst has started
Other messages can be sent to standard error, indicating (for instance) the following:
Invalid option was supplied
Invalid workstation name was supplied
Parameter in the workstation style file was invalid
SNAP-IX software was not started
Workstation was already running
