Appendix D: Print Style File Utility

With the print style file utility, you can generate a text listing of a style file and send it either to a text file or to a printer. The basic listing contains information from the Customize Miscellaneous Options dialog box and the Customize Session Parameters dialog boxes for each session. Additional options enable you to include color mapping data and file transfer options for each session and to list the key definitions and recorded key sequences in the style file.

D.1 Command Format

The syntax of the command is:

tnprtsty -s stylefile [-i | -t convfile][-c] [-f] [-k] [-r]

The name of the style file to be printed is stylefile. If you do not specify a directory path, the 3270 emulation program searches the current directory and then the default directory /etc/opt/tn3270 . You do not need to add the .stu extension to the file name.

Command options are:

Use this option if the style file was created with a language other than U.S. English. This option is only necessary if you are also using one of the options or , and it cannot be used with the option. Your Solaris computer must support the ISO 8859 character set.

Use this option if the style file was created with a user-defined translation table. The full pathname of the translation table file used is convfile. This option is only necessary if you are also using one of the options or , and it cannot be used with the option.

Include full color mapping data for each display session. The default is not to include color mapping data.

Include file transfer options for each session. The output contains information for file transfer to TSO, VM/CMS, and CICS host applications, although only one set of options are used at any one time. The default is not to include file transfer options.

Include the key definitions for the file. If the style file was created using or , you need to specify the same option here. The default is not to include the key definitions.

Include the recorded key sequences in the style file. If the style file was created using or , you need to specify the same option here. The default is not to include recorded key sequences.
